  • “Looking Square In The Eye…”: Shashi Tharoor On PM Modi’s Pak Conflict Speech

Prime Minister Narendra Modi handled the conflict between India and Pakistan “extremely well”, Congress MP Shashi Tharoor said on Tuesday, praising him for Operation Sindoor and for sending a clear message to the neighbouring country through his first public address on the strikes a day earlier.

“It is certainly always needed (PM address). It is the duty of our Prime Minister to speak to his people from time to time. He does his monthly broadcast, Mann Ki Baat, which is not urgent and critical stuff. It’s more selective in general,” Mr Tharoor told NDTV.

“I think coming on television, looking the nation square in the eye and talking about big issues on top of their minds is always important, whether it was Covid or whether it is war. We needed him to do that. So I am glad he did it,” he added.

On Monday, PM Modi addressed the nation for the first time since the conflict with the neighbouring country erupted last week. He said operations against Pakistan have only been kept in abeyance and the future will depend on their behaviour.

Lauding Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the Pahalgam terror attack, the Congress said: “I have no doubts that a meticulously planned operation like this came out of a sophisticated military headquarters. It’s not some random, crazy doing something.”

“The overall crisis was handled extremely well. I have gone on record saying that Operation Sindoor, from the naming to the presentation to the conduct, everything I give full marks to,” Mr Tharoor said.

He also said that Pakistan should now realise that “we are not anymore prepared to take all this (terror attacks)”. “The more you do, the more consequences you are going to face. I think all that messaging was very clear, and the Pakistanis have got that message,” he said.

Operation Sindoor was launched on the intervening night of May 7 and 8 escalated bilateral tensions, since it led to strikes and counter-strikes between the two nations. On Saturday, India and Pakistan reached an agreement to stop all firing and military action on land, air and sea, with effect from 5pm. Pakistan, however, violated the agreement within hours of it coming into effect.

  • India Can Hit Every Corner Of Pak, Army, Terrorists Know This Now: PM Modi

Prime Minister Modi visited the Adampur air force station today.

He proved Pakistan’s claims of destroying the airbase with missiles as false.

PM Modi asserted that Pakistan’s military can no longer shelter terrorists.

Standing in front of the advanced S-400 air defence system in Punjab’s Adampur, which Pakistan claimed it had destroyed with its China-made JF-17 fighter jets, Prime Minister Narendra Modi exposed Islamabad’s blatant lies when he made a televised address to the troops at that forward air force base.

In a stern message, PM Modi said Pakistan’s army, and terrorists that it shelters, have nowhere to run or hide anymore. Crediting the Indian armed forces for sending a decisive message to Pakistan’s military, the prime minister said, “You all (soldiers) have shown the Pakistan Army that there is not a place left in Pakistan where it can shelter terrorists.”

“There is no corner left in Pakistan where terrorists can sit in peace. We can hit them no matter where they are in Pakistan,” he added.

He went on to say that going forward, “India will not spare even one chance (to Pakistan’s Army) to save the terrorists.”

Speaking about the precision strikes that targeted terror camps in Pakistan, PM Modi said, “The thought of our drones and missiles haunt them. They have been having sleepless nights.”

  • Sikkim’s ‘Wild’ Golden Jubilee Gift: 21 Endangered Snow Leopards Identified

The fugure was revealed in the first-ever Snow Leopard Population Assessment Report, jointly presented by the Forest and Environment Department and WWF-India.

As Sikkim celebrates its golden jubilee of statehood on Friday, it has unwrapped a gift from the wild.

The first-ever Snow Leopard Population Assessment Report, jointly presented by the Forest and Environment Department and WWF-India, has identified 21 endangered snow leopards in the high-altitude zones of north and west Sikkim.

The study involved two years of meticulous scientific tracking, using camera traps, across the Himalayan terrain.

To mark the occasion, the state has also introduced a new mascot, a snow leopard named “Kuzu”, which is meant to symbolise Sikkim’s commitment to wildlife protection and biodiversity.

“This is not just a scientific milestone, but a testament to Sikkim’s deeply rooted conservation policies,” Pradeep Kumar, who is the principal secretary of the Forest and Environment Department, said, emphasising that the state’s focused efforts are allowing forest life to thrive.

Mr Kumar also recalled a rare instance where a Royal Bengal tiger and a snow leopard were captured on the same camera trap, highlighting Sikkim’s unique ecological riches.
